Intersections of stratifications of the moduli space of abelian varieties

The moduli space of principally polarised abelian varieties defined over finite fields is studied through various stratifications. The two most natural stratitifcations appear to be the Newton stratification and the Ekedahl-Oort stratification. In this talk I will discuss joint work with Steven Groen and Mychelle Parker which studies the connections between these two stratifications in dimension 5.
