Half-integral weight modular forms are special too

Heilbronn Number Theory Seminar

10th October 2018, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Howard House, 4th Floor Seminar Room

Full-integral weight modular forms on GL(2) are beautiful, classical objects that form one part of a very general picture in analytic number theory. Half-integral weight modular forms are closely related, but usually relegated to the margins. In this talk, we will discuss how half-integral weight objects are interesting in their own right. Recent work suggesting the Lindelof Hypothesis for half-integral weight L-functions and work on the distribution of zeroes of these L-functions will also be discussed.
