Entanglement plays a fundamental role in quantum physics. In this talk, I will present a new set of prescriptions for calculating entanglement entropy in holographic systems. The central object in these prescriptions are bit threads - curves in the bulk - which are equivalent to and complement surface-based formulas like the Ryu-Takayanagi. Quantum bit threads capture the entanglement structure in the bulk. Our new bit thread prescriptions come in many varieties: vector field-based or based on measures over bulk curves, dependent or independent of the bulk UV regulator, loose and strict versions of constraints, and more. Quantum bit threads inspire new measures of entanglement that we call entanglement distribution functions, which can be packaged into a convex polytope that we call the entropohedron. I will discuss the entropohedron's properties, how it geometrises entanglement, and future applications.
