Algorithms for infinite linear groups

This talk will survey our ongoing collaborative project aimed at computing with linear groups over infinite fields. We will discuss our methodology and its application in the design of relevant algorithms. Many techniques are based on the theory of linear algebraic groups. The talk is intended for an audience with a general background in algebra.
