Periodic trajectories on triply periodic surfaces

In this talk, we will discuss various problems regarding dynamics on triply periodic surfaces. One studies hyperplane sections on triply periodic surfaces, and another studies straight line trajectories on flat surfaces. We will discuss known examples and compare those to other examples that are less understood.

We will discuss partial results on an ongoing work with Samantha Fairchild and Sunrose Shrestha. Namely, we aim to characterize periodic trajectories on an infinite surface and quantify the growth of the number of such trajectories up to a certain length.
