G\’al’s sums and applications

We evaluate the asymptotic size of various sums of G\’al type. Elaborating on methods recently developed by Bondarenko and Seip, we obtain an asymptotic formula the maximum of such sum. We derive some new applications. This is a joint work with G\’erald Tenenbaum.
