On inheritance of C*-simplicity and the unique trace property

A discrete group G is called C*-simple if its reduced C*-algebra is simple, and it is said to have the unique trace property if its reduced C*-algebra has a unique trace. Both of these properties pass to normal subgroups, and in this talk we discuss extensions of these inheritance properties to dynamical generalizations of normal subgroups, namely, invariant and stationary random subgroups (IRSs and SRSs), and uniformly recurrent subgroups (URSs).
