A survey of progress on Donovan's conjecture

Morita equivalence of blocks of finite groups preserves structural information about the modules for a block as well as many key invariants. The main conjecture in the area is that of Donovan, which predicts that there should be only finitely many Morita equivalence classes of blocks with a given defect. I will give a survey of progress on the conjecture and related problems. Much of my work has centred on blocks with abelian defect groups. This talk will include more recent work on the case of blocks with nonabelian defect groups.
