On Geometric Carleman Estimates and Controllability of Waves
Analysis and Geometry Seminar
19th March 2018, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Howard House, Second Floor Seminar Room
In this talk, we consider the question of exact (boundary) controllability of wave equations: whether one can steer their solutions to a desired state using appropriate boundary data. In particular, we discuss some new results for linear wave equations on domains with moving boundaries. We also discuss the novel geometric Carleman estimates that form the main tools for proving these control results, and, if time permits, we mention some other applications of these Carleman estimates.
