How long does it take for Internal DLA to forget its initial profile?
Probability Seminar
23rd February 2018, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Main Maths Building, SM4
We will discuss Internal DLA, a mathematical model for erosion processes, on cylinder graphs of the form GxZ. How does a large cluster typically look like? How long does it take for the process to forget its initial profile? In this talk I will answer these questions for G=Z_N, the cycle on N vertices, and explain how, for general G, we expect the answer to depend on the mixing properties of the base graph. Joint work with Lionel Levine.
