L-infinity cohomology of groups

Geometry and Topology Seminar

5th December 2023, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Fry Building, 2.04

L-infinity cohomology, also known as bounded-value cohomology, is a quasi-isometry invariant of groups that was introduced by Gersten initially to study Dehn functions of finitely presented groups. Since then, a lot of work has been done relating homological properties of groups to geometric ones: in particular, criteria for hyperbolicity. I will survey what has been done, new results, open problems and some ongoing work.
