Some properties of Laplace eigenfunctions near the bottom of the spectrum

In this talk I shall recall some conjectural properties of Laplace eigenfunctions corresponding to eigenvalues near the bottom of the spectrum. We will focus on bounded simply connected domains with smooth boundary in constant curvature two dimensional manifolds.
