The Hasse norm principle is said to hold for an extension of global fields L/k if an element of k^\times is a global norm from L/k if and only if it is a norm everywhere locally. In joint work with A. Mânzățeanu, R. Newton, E. Ozman, N. Sutherland, we study failure of the Hasse norm principle in global function field setting. In this talk, I will report our results.
