Higher heights and rational points on curves

Motivated by an analogous real-valued construction due to Scholl, Nekovář constructed p-adic height functions on certain spaces of Galois representations. In this talk, I will discuss a generalisation of his construction to a larger space of Galois representations, and give some Diophantine applications. This is joint work with Carl Wang-Erickson.
