Holography, tessellations and quantum codes

In this talk we will explore new relationships between tessellations and codes used for quantum error correction, focussing particularly on tessellations of hyperbolic manifolds in general dimensions. We will explain how these constructions relate to ideas in fundamental physics, particularly the holographic principle, which relates gravitational theories to gauge theories in one less spatial dimension.
