The Riemann Zeta function and Random Matrices

This talk discusses the connection between the Riemann zeta function and random matrices by the characteristic polynomials of different matrix ensembles. We are motivated to evaluate the moments of characteristic polynomials and their derivatives, and extending the validity of these results approaching the boundary of the unit circle. Results for analogues of the Riemann zeta function may also follow under similar manipulations.
