Geometry of the Gaussian Free Field
Colloquia Seminar
23rd October 2023, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Fry Building, 2.41
This talk will be an introduction to a random field known as the Gaussian Free Field (GFF), which is the natural analogue of Brownian motion when its index set is taken to be higher dimensional. I will explain why it can be considered a "universal" random field in two dimensions, and explore some of the interesting fractal sets that arise when considering its geometry.
