Sumsets and Ergodic Decompositions

In recent work with Kra, Moreira and Richter on infinite sumset problems, an important role was played by continuously varying ergodic decompositions of certain measures. In this talk I will introduce the combinatorial problems we have been working on, describe what we mean by a continuous ergodic decomposition, and explain the connection between the two.
