One-relator groups with torsion are virtually free-by-cyclic

I will describe how one can use some combination theorems for hyperbolic compact special groups and the L²-Freiheitssatz of Peterson—Thom to show that one-relator groups with torsion are virtually free-by-cyclic, where the free group might not be finitely generated. This confirms a conjecture of Baumslag.
