Colloquia Seminar

Emmy Noether was a trailblazing mathematician of the early 20th century who was remarkable in many ways, defying the odds of a system stacked against her to produce work that has had a profound and lasting impact on modern algebra. Despite this, her papers were left untranslated for 100 years. I explore the history of her life and work and bring the listener on a journey through the trials and tribulations of translating a 100-year-old paper.
