Large sets without Fourier restriction theorems
Analysis and Geometry Seminar
25th November 2021, 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm
Fry Building, Zoom
In this talk, we will explore the relationship between Fourier
restriction properties, Hausdorff dimension and Fourier decay in the
context of fractals. While the Stein–Tomas theorem constitutes a
well-known sufficient condition for Fourier restriction, little is known
in terms of necessary conditions. In this direction, I will show that
any measure with Fourier restriction properties avoids a certain
universal set of full Hausdorff dimension.
