We will introduce homogenous relational structures and the concept of the relational complexity of a permutation group. After this example-led introduction we will discuss a new result which classifies which of the 26 (in)famous sporadic simple groups can occur as the automorphism group of a homogeneous (directed, coloured) graph, in an "interesting" way. Very little group theory knowledge will be assumed!
