Eigenvalue bounds for the mixed Steklov problem on surfaces

Analysis and Geometry Seminar

1st October 2020, 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm
Online, (contact organisers for details)

The (mixed) Steklov problem is an eigenvalue problem whose spectral parameter appear in the boundary condition. There have been many developments around the generalisation of the well-known Weinstock and Hersch-Payne-Schiffer inequalities for the Steklov eigenvalues. We will discuss how some of these bounds can be extended and improved for the mixed Steklov problem.
