Lesbian, Gay, Bosonic, Trans+
Mathematics Postgraduate Seminar
1st November 2019, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Fry Building, 2.04
This talk will be divided into two, admittedly unrelated, parts. The first half will be on the subject of LGBT+ diversity in STEM, focusing on a recent report on LGBT+ experiences and steps we can take to make academia more welcoming. In the second half, I will talk about mathematically modelling bosonic systems using representation theory, and give an open problem about irreducible representations of the symmetric and unitary groups.
