Dr. Andi Wang will be speaking at the IMS Annual Meeting in Probability and Statistics, to be held in London, 27-30 June (https://www.imsannualmeeting-london2022.com/special-sessions). This is a large international meeting, spanning a range of topics from theoretical probability to modern statistical methodology and statistical theory. Andi will be giving a talk in the special New Researchers Group session on recent work, joint with Bristol colleagues Prof. Christophe Andrieu, Prof. Anthony Lee and Dr. Sam Power, on the topic of subgeometric convergence of Markov chains. This work is particularly useful in the study of algorithms for performing scalable Bayesian inference known as pseudo-marginal MCMC methods. The paper can be found online here.
